Industry, the services society and the knowledge economy

The two-year programme seeks to promote a number of initiatives.

Among those already undertaken, the organisation of the workshop "Technology transfer policies" (28 March 2007), in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of Milan/Euro Info Center.

Then there was a residential workshop, staged in Moncalieri (To) on 4 and 5 October 2007, entitled "Technology transfer policies in Europe: experiences and projects", attended by national and international representatives from the worlds of research, business, finance and the public administration, professionals and social sciences researchers. For these operators the Workshop was an opportunity to discuss specific aspects of the wide-ranging issue of innovation policies, supported by case studies and concrete experiences of: the roles and models of organisations set up to deal with technology transfer, the contribution of important research institutes to the production and transfer of technological knowledge and the types and initiatives of funding organisations.

The proceedings of the two workshops were published in issue 149 of queste istituzioni, a monograph dedicated to technology transfer.

A third workshop was then staged, again at Moncalieri, on the subject of the funding of innovation and technology transfer  (30 and 31 October 2008).

As part of the two-year programme CSS is promoting numerous other activities, including the drafting of dossiers, summaries and commentaries on national and international conferences, promoted by various organisations, dedicated to innovation and technology transfer, as well as the English translation of the book, sponsored by CSS, by F. Biscotti and M. S. Ristuccia "Transferring technologies. The case of space technology transfer in Europe" (Marsilio, 2007).
