Founded in 1973 by Sergio Ristuccia, queste istituzioni is an interdisciplinary quarterly journal focussed on institutional framework and processes  – public and private institutions–, civil society organizations and actors (voluntary associations, charities, nonprofits, foundations), wide economic and political scenarios (public-private partnerships, national reforms). Our focus ranges from local experiences to national and international levels, with a deep interest in the European Union.
Recently, queste istituzioni has confirmed and strenghten its own vocation for interdisciplinary analysis and in-depth examination of current world’s events, becoming in 2004 the journal of CSS, Italian Council for Social Sciences, a nongovernmental, nonprofit and nonpartisan membership
organization, think tank, and publisher for interdisciplinary study and research on policy matters, made up about seventy distinguished scholars and experts from all relevant disciplines.
